Journalist Reveals What He Went Through To Track Down Atiku In The US. Photos

Popular Cameroonian journalist (formerly based in Lagos), Simon Ateba, has revealed his struggle just to get a meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who arrived Washington DC in the United States, few days ago.

According to the journalist who is now based in America, all the aides of the former vice president he called about his plan to meet Atiku, ignored him including his son.

He also claimed that he and others were tried to be distracted by Atiku’s team after tracking him down to the Voice of America studio.

The reporter said he told Atiku Abubakar, that Nigerians need urgent answers and not talk. He urged him to focus on electricity, Peace and security among other things if he wins the presidential election next month.

Below is what he shared on Facebook;

I called Atiku’s spokesman who was left in Nigeria because I wanted a sit down interview to ask tough questions Nigerians have in mind, but he ignored me. Atiku traveled to USA with his son Adamu and I called him, he ignored me. I called Mohammed, Atiku’s son in Abuja, he ignored me. Atiku’s media man in the USA began to deceive me, trying to send me to another location while Atiku was headed somewhere else. I tracked down Atiku’s driver, he lied to me.

While I waited for Atiku outside Voice of America, as he was coming out, they sent a man to distract us. But we stayed focused. In the end, we were the only ones who really documented his first stay in USA in 12 years. Then, most of them reached out, wanting to have pictures and videos. I said no. We sell them and if they are taken illegally from my site, we will sue. We thank God!
