JUST IN: Former Super Eagles Left-Back Joins 10th European Clubs

Former Super Eagles left-back Taye Taiwo has joined his 10 European clubs after putting to pen and paper one year contract with Cyprus top-flight side Doxa Katokopias FC.

The 35-year-old defender shot into the limelight at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands where he was voted as the third-best player behind Lionel Messi and his Nigerian compatriot, John Obi Mikel

Taiwo arrived at Cyprus along with his intermediary Tekin Birinci where he put finishing touching where he signed a one-year contract that would see him remain at Doxa Katokopias for the entirety of the 2020-2021 season after passing his medical on Friday morning before he was unveiled.

Taiwo was a member of the Super Eagles squad to 2006, 2008 and 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Taiwo starting his career with Nigerian football club Gabros and Lobi Star before he began his European journey since 2005, with spells in Marseille, AC Milan, Dynamo Kyiv, Queens Park Rangers, Bursaspor, HJK Helsinki, Lausanne, AFC Eskilstuna and RoPS.
