Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has admitted he could make a shock career move to boxing after being inspired by Mike Tyson’s comeback.

The 32-year-old French star has remained in fine form for Los Blancos as Zinedine Zidane’s men captured the La Liga title.

But Benzema, who made 47 appearances and scored 26 times, is looking at life beyond the football pitch.

Speaking to kickboxing pal Fouad Ezbiri on YouTube, the former Lyon star said: “I get a thrill out of combat sports, and I love to train.

“Once my football career is over, why don’t I train with you for six months?

“Then, if you think I am ready for a fight, there’s no problem as far as I’m concerned. I swear to God, I’m up for it.”

Tyson, 54, has been teasing a return to the sport for some time and will face fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight on 12th September.

And Benzema revealed that he “always admired [Tyson’s] presence, his determination and attitude.”

The Los Blancos star explained: “It’s his strength. I have always admired his presence, his determination and attitude. Besides, he has come from nowhere.”

The eight-round exhibition clash between Tyson and Jones will be streamed exclusively on multi-media platform Triller.

And boxing fans will have to pay a staggering $49 to access the pay-per-view, which features YouTube star Jake Paul against Nate Robinson on the undercard.

Tyson has wasted no time in sending a clear warning to Jones and said he is “looking forward to recapturing my glory.”

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ told TMZ: “If the opportunity comes, I’m always looking for it.

“This is search and destroy and I’m looking forward to recapturing my glory.”
