Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has provided injury updates ahead of Tottenham Hotspurs Premier League clash on Saturday early kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
The 41-year-old English coach is sweating on the fitness of several of his players after the west London club were hit with something of a crisis with N’Golo Kante, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Andreas Christensen, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham are all doubts for the game this weekend.Lampard confirmed that Loftus-Cheek is the squad for Spurs clash as the 24-year-old midfielder has not been seen since May 2019, when he ruptured his Achilles tendon during a charity match against New England Revolution However, striker Tammy Abraham also set to be part of the squad after shaking off a back injury which forced him to miss the recent 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.Lampard said via the club official website:
“N’Golo is not fit,’ “It’s a muscle injury, similar to the one he came off with against Arsenal recently. Hopefully three weeks, something around that.”Christian Pulisic is still not fit. I can’t give you an exact date. It’s a difficult injury and we’re working on that.
“Andreas went to get a mask for a broken nose, which he has now got and has trained with. He’s available for selection, albeit with a mask.”He’s trained two days at a good level, where there has been contacting and heading to do. He’s been playing so well; Andreas is in great form. We will have to see if he’s ready, because this is going to be a battle and as a centre-back you need to be confident you can make contact.
“Tammy has trained the last two days probably at about 70 percent having not trained much recently,’ concluded Lampard.”He’s in the squad but I’ll have to make a decision on whether he’s fit.’The Blues are looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night, after another disappointing night at Stamford Bridge.
