Liverpool is winning the race to sign Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara, according to report in Spain.
The Premier League Champions want to shape up their midfield options with the former Barcelona star in sight at the Anfield.
The report in Sport claims that Thiago and Liverpool have agreed on personal terms and it is left for the Premier League Champions to reach a term with Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich want €35 million (£31.5m) for the Spanish international with Liverpool not ready to pay in a lump sum and they are willing to pay the proceed instrumentally.
Thiago spent seven years in the Bundesliga and last season he made 35 appearances for Bayern this season but has only featured twice since the Bundesliga restarted due to a groin problem.
The Spanish midfielder is expected to play in the DFB Pokal final against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
Real Madrid was also linked with the player but it seems his preference is to play for Liverpool under the management of Jurgen Klopp.
