Manchester City won Bournemouth 2-1 in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening as the Cherries continue to play for survival in the English top-flight, Silva and Gabriel Jesus ensured the dethroned Champions claimed the maximum points against Eddie Howe’s team.

Manchester City drew the first blood in the 6th minute following a free-kick that was perfectly taken by David Silva from outside the box in the 6th minute.

Manchester City, as usual, dominated the game but were unable to convert most of the chances created but the home team kept probing for spaces to score the second goal.

Manchester City finally got the second goal with Gabriel Jesus beating Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with a brilliant shot into the right side of the net, following a superb display from Silva.

Bournemouth was lucky not to have conceded a penalty in the area after Gabriel Jesus was brought down in the box.

Manchester City led Bournemouth with 2-0 in the first half as the away team gradually lower their guard ahead of the second half.

Bournemouth was denied by the VAR after Joshua King’s goal was rightly ruled offside as the home team continue to dictate the proceedings in the game.

Manchester City reduced the tempo of the game in the second half as they maintained possession without causing any havoc in terms of scoring more goals other than the two first-half goals.

Manchester City claimed the three points as Bournemouth continue to battle to stay out of the relegation zone.

The away team scored a consolation goal in the 88th minute of the clash after David Brooks tapped in the ball into an empty net after receiving a pass from Callum Wilson.
