Man City Sign Nigerian Wonderkid
Manchester City beat Premier League rival Chelsea to sign Nigerian wonder kid, Samuel Edozie, who played for the youth team of Millwall last season Millwall.
The 16-year-old forward has attracted interest from several clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund as well as RB Leipzig before agreeing on terms with Pep Guardiola side.
Edozie moves to Etihad Stadium for an initial fee of £1million, but it could rise to £2million if he makes his debut for Manchester City the highly-rated winger will join Liam Delap from Derby County, Oscar Bobb and Oscar Tarensi from overseas will featured for the Cityzen Under 18 next season.Manchester City academy coach, Gareth Taylor said to the official website of the Citizens saying:
“The new lads have settled well and that can only happen when you have a decent group that invites them in as there is a lot to take in when you come in to a new club – especially a club the size of ours – in terms of getting to know the staff, settling in where you live and what have you,””Sam Edozie has come from Millwall and it will be different environment for him, Liam Delap has come from Derby, another team that was really strong last season while Oscar Bobb and Oscar Tarensi have also joined us from overseas.”
Edozie played for Millwall’s Under-18 and Under-19 teams last season, and Chelsea wooed him by inviting him to their Cobham training base and introducing him to England star Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
