Man Sentenced To 3-year Imprisonment Over Robbery

A man identified as Sa’idu Haruna has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for armed robbery by a Jigawa High Court sitting in Gumel, on Monday.

The prosecution counsel presented three witnesses.

Delivering the Judgment, Hon. Justice M.A Sambo found the accused person guilty of the offence of armed robbery.

He said the offense was contrary to Section 298(1)(b) of the penal code.

Justice Sambo sentenced Haruna to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of N30,000 to the victim or in default serve another 3 years imprisonment.

He said both sentences shall run concurrently from the date of his first detention.
