Manchester United is now in a pole position to sign Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon, according to report in Spain.

Reguilon was loaned to Sevilla last season after the arrival of Ferland Mendy from Lyon to deputise Marcelo at the left-back position at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane prefers to keep Marcelo and Mendy in the squad and he sees the 23-year-old as excess to requirement.

The report in AS claims that Manchester United has made an offer Reguilon can refuse, he is being tempted by an offer from the Red Devils after being assured of a starting spot by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Los Blancos are keen on raise fund as they embark on major clear-out sales this summer, the club has sold numbers of players in this transfer with the like of Acraf Hakimi, Javi Sánchez to Valladolid etc, and more is still yet to follow.

The Spaniard would cost around £25m and the deal would come with a buy-back clause.
Sevilla is interested in making the deal permanent but the lack the financial muscle to enter such deal.
