Manchester United: Red Devils charged by Football Association over conduct in FA Cup win against Fulham

Manchester United have been charged with improper conduct for surrounding the referee during Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Fulham.

United players approached referee Chris Kavanagh amid the 71st-minute incident that saw Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic, Willian and boss Marco Silva sent off.

The Football Association say United “failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion”.

The Red Devils have until Monday 27 March to respond to the charge.

Fulham striker Mitrovic is facing a long ban after being charged with violent and improper conduct by the FA for the push on Kavanagh that led to his red card.

Meanwhile, the FA has also charged Wolves with misconduct over their remonstrations with officials at the end of their Premier League loss to relegation rivals Leeds.

Unused substitute Matheus Nunes was sent off for vociferously contesting Leeds’ injury-time goal in the 4-2 win but the midfielder’s red card has been overturned by the Football Association.

However, the FA have charged Wolves with failing to ensure their players and/or technical area occupants behaved properly towards the match officials.
