Manchester United has reached an agreement to keep Odion Ighalo till the end of January 2021.
Ighalo is due to make a return to the Chinese Super League club in June as his initial loan agreement with Manchester United only runs until May 31.
Ighalo has returned to training with Manchester United teammates at the Carrington and the Red Devil hierarchy has optimistic of a new deal for the former Nigeria striker.
Shanghai Shenhua had initially demanded £20 million from United for Ighalo to be signed permanently. Manchester United is unwilling to meet that asking price for a player who turns 31 in June.
Ighalo’s agent Atta Aneke, has confirmed to Norwegian outlet Nettavisen that United are now on the verge of agreeing on a new deal with Shanghai Shenhua that will keep the striker with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side until next year.
Ighalo,30, is keen on extending his deal at Manchester United.
