He was arrested on October 15 due to suspicion of breaching his previous bail conditions. The player appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody.

At the end of Wednesday’s hearing, a spokesperson for the court disclosed that bail had been granted with conditions not to contact witnesses, including the complainant, and to reside at an address on Bow Green Road in Bowdon, Sky News has reported.

Greenwood is to reappear before the court on November 21.

He was first arrested in January on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman before being further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.

Manchester United has suspended the footballer since the allegations emerged, and his last game for the Premier League club came on January 22 against West Ham.

Nike also suspended and later terminated its sponsorship deal with the England international.

Meanwhile, Electronic Arts confirmed he had been removed from active squads on its FIFA games.
