Trailing by a goal from the first leg, Milan required a two-goal win to progress. They made an immediate impact, scoring within the first minute as Christian Pulisic delivered a cross, Malick Thiaw headed it back across goal, and new signing Santi Gimenez finished it off.
Leading 1-0 with nearly the entire match ahead, Milan had a golden opportunity to secure the second goal at home, backed by their fans. It seemed straightforward, especially against a struggling Feyenoord side, having already sacked his replacement, Brian Priske, and forced to start three teenagers due to 10 missing players.
Milan dominated the first half but failed to capitalize on multiple chances. They kept up the pressure after the break, pushing for a second goal until Theo’s costly mistake.
Rafael Leao played him in on the overlap, and as Theo charged into the box, he faced defender Givairo Read. Then, inexplicably, he threw himself to the ground without any contact.
At that point, Milan had no way back, and to make matters worse, their frustration started to boil over.
