Newcastle United on Sunday secured their first Premier League win over Arsenal since 2005 as Alex Iwobi and his teammates were beaten 2-1 at St James Park.
Before Sunday’s game, Arsenal had won their last 10 Premier League matches against the Magpies but they could not replicate same.
The result meant that Arsenal’s away woes in the Premier League is far from over.
Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal an early lead but the visitors were left stunned as first Ayoze Perez pegged them back before Matt Ritchie netted the winner to push Rafa Benitez’s side further away from the relegation zone.
The defeat means Arsenal remain the only Premier League side to not pick up a single point away from home in 2018, losing each of their last five games on the road in the competition.

France striker Lacazette got Arsenal off to the ideal start when he guided Aubameyang’s hooked ball across goal in at the far post for his 13th goal of the season with just 14 minutes on the clock.
However, Aubameyang and Iwobi both fluffed begging chances to double Arsenal’s lead, and that allowed Newcastle to level as the half-hour mark approached.
Neither side were able to muster up much in the way of attack in the second half, Matt Ritchie’s drive over 20 minutes into the period the first time either side had mustered up a shot on goal.
He would do much better moments later as once more Arsenal’s defence switched off. Monreal looped a clearing header up and far away from safety. Mustafi ambled in pursuit of the ball and Newcastle worked the ball from left to right and Ritchie, who struck a well-placed effort beyond Cech.
Newcastle have now won their last four Premier League matches, and the victory has moved them onto 41 points – 13 points clear of the relegation zone. Arsenal, meanwhile, stay in sixth position as their poor away form continued.
