Nigeria, Tunisia Friendly Confirmed Amidst Covid-19 Fears

The proposed international friendly between Nigeria and Tunisia will go ahead as earlier scheduled amidst Covid-19 threats.

Tunisia news website Jnaliste Sfaxien confirmed that Carthage Eagles will square up against Super Eagles at Liman Arena on Tuesday after two Tunisian players tested positive for Corona Virus.The Tunisian national team camp was thrown into a sad mood on Sunday after laboratory results showed that the duo of Ferjani Sassi and Saif El-Din Al-Khawi tested positive for the virus.

Tunisian players underwent the Covid-19 test on Sunday before traveling to Austria as part of the health precautions required before traveling abroad.Nigeria will be aiming to bounce back into reckoning after their 1-0 loss to Desert Foxes of Algeria last Friday while Tunisia hopes to move up in FIFA ranking after their 3-0 win over Sudan.

In the last meeting between both countries at the 2019 AFCON third-place clash, Nigeria defeated Tunisia 1-0 to clinch the Bronze medal.Tuesday’s clash comes up in the Austrian city of Klakn Ford.
