Nigerian goalkeeper Dele Alampasu has made his official debut for his new Latvian club FK Ventspils

Alamapasu was handed his maiden start of the season for Ventspils in their 3 – 1 win over FK Spartak in the Latvian Virsliga on Monday.

Alampasu who emerged as the Golden Glove winner at the FIFA 2013 U-17 World Cup joined Ventspil aa couple of months back in a desperate move to revive his dwindling football career.

The 23-year old had endured a disappointing five years adventure with the Portuguese side Feirense before opting for a new challenge albeit in a somewhat lesser league.

Alampasu did give a good account of himself as he made some decent saves to help his team secured the vital away win and also a memorable debut for himself.

Meanwhile, Alampasu’s compatriots Christian Pyagbara and Kazeem Aderounmu also featured in Monday’s game.

Aderounmu came off the bench in the second half and the 20-year old striker was able to get his name on the score sheet.

This first away victory in five games has moved Ventspils to the second spot on the league table.
