Nigerian Striker Reveals His International Football Plans Ahead New Call Up

New Genk striker Cyriel Dessers has revealed one of his ambitions play international football.

The 25-year-old born to a Belgian father and a Nigerian mother, but is eligible represent Red Devils and Super Eagles but remains uncapped at the international level.

Dessers trained with Belgium U21 squad ahead of a European Championship qualifier five years ago, but was an unused substitute against Moldova.

However, he has earned his first Nigeria call-up for two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone in March 2020.

But his dream to feature for Super Eagles was suspended after CAF postponed the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Roberto Martinez is expected to named Belgium squad in the coming days for the UEFA Nations League matches against Denmark and Iceland in September.

while the Super Eagles are inactive but Dessers told Eleven Belgium: “I would like to become an international and play in a big Belgian club and fulfill a dream,”

“I still hope to play in a great championship but that’s for later.”

Dessers was joint-top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie with 15 goals last but the new Genk star has scored one goal for Belgium side.
