NOA wants a high voter participation in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa

The National Orientation Agency has asked citizens to vote in big numbers for the candidates of their choice without fear of intimidation or harassment tomorrow when voters in the states of Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi choose their governors.

The NOA Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated in a statement on Friday that voting is a civic obligation and that no citizens or voters should give in to fear or terror.

The DG emphasized in the statement, which was signed by Paul Odenyi, deputy director of press, that electing the officials who will lead the states for the next four years is an important duty and that not supporting the candidates they support could be interpreted as a lack of interest in the progress of their states.

He gave everyone the assurance that security personnel had been sent in by the federal government to protect the election process and keep the calm.
Issa-Onilu praised Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, for coordinating strong security measures to guarantee a successful election day with little risk to people’s lives or property, while also acknowledging the work of important players.

In addition, he conveyed his gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission for their prompt delivery of voting materials to the states, demonstrating their readiness to carry out their duty.
