Obasanjo Visits Olubadan-designate, Lekan Balogun

Obasanjo was accompanied to the Alarere residence of the Olubadan designate by a former Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government area of Oyo State, Mr Gbenga Adewusi.

“Ex-President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, paid a courtesy visit to the residence of the Olubadan designate, Dr Lekan Balogun.

Dailypost gathered on Wednesday that Obasanjo visited Balogun on Tuesday.

Obasanjo was accompanied to the Alarere residence of the Olubadan designate by a former Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government area of Oyo State, Mr Gbenga Adewusi.

It was learnt that Obasanjo joined Balogun at dining on his arrival.

It was gathered that the host and the visitor later retired to a corner for a private discussion.

It gathered that Obasanjo was in Ibadan to congratulate Balogun on his nomination as the next Olubadan.

The former President then assured that he would prostrate for the Olubadan designate whenever he come to Ibadan after his installation.

Obasanjo, a native of Abeokuta in Ogun State, was the President of Nigeria between 1999 and 2007.

Balogun, on the other hand, represented Oyo Central Senatorial District between 1999 and 2003.

The former university lecturer was announced recently as the next Olubadan by the Olubadan-in-Council.

His appointment has also been approved by the Oyo State Government.

Balogun’s younger brother, Dr Muhammed Kola Balogun is currently representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the current National Assembly.

It was gathered that the installation of the new monarch has been fixed for March 11 in Ibadan.
