OFFICIAL: 2nd Leg Of UCL Last-16 Game Between Juventus & Lyon Is Postponed

The Champions League games Juventus-Olympique Lyonnais and Manchester City-Real Madrid are postponed, as squads are quarantined due to the Coronavirus.

“Following the quarantine imposed on players of Juventus and Real Madrid CF, the following UEFA Champions League matches will not take place as scheduled.

“UEFA Champions League, Round of 16:

“Manchester City FC – Real Madrid CF, 17 March, 21:00CET

“Juventus – Olympique Lyonnais, 17 March, 21:00CET

“Further decisions on the two matches will be communicated in due course.”

It remains to be seen what will happen with Napoli’s proposed trip to Barcelona, while in the Europa League Sevilla-Roma and Inter-Getafe have already been postponed.

UEFA are expected to suspend the entire tournament after Tuesday’s summit, but otherwise most Europa League fixtures are going ahead as planned today.

There was no choice when it came to two Champions League fixtures, as Juventus and Real Madrid squads are under quarantine for 14 days.

In Juve’s case, it’s because defender Daniele Rugani tested positive for Coronavirus, while a Real Madrid basketball player who uses the same training facilities as Zinedine Zidane’s men also has COVID-19.
