OFFICIAL: Gareth Bale Returns To Tottenham



Having been made redundant at Real Madrid in the past months, Gareth Bale has returned to his former club Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan to revive his club career.

Spurs while announcing the arrival of Bale confirmed that the Welsh star will wear the number 9 shirt.

Initially signed as a 17-year-old from Southampton in 2007, Gareth made his name over six years at Spurs before moving to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2013.

“I’m so happy to have this shirt on again,” the Welsh star stated after completing a deal to re-join us on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

He continued: “It’s nice to be back!”.  “This is such a special Club to me. It’s where I made my name. What an amazing Club, amazing fans, and it’s just incredible to be back. Hopefully now I can get some match fitness, help the team and win trophies.

“I always thought when I did leave that one day I would love to come back, and the opportunity has now arisen. I feel like it’s a good fit, it’s a good time for me, I’m hungry, I’m motivated, I want to do well and can’t wait to get started.”

While most fans are over the heels with the arrival of Bale, they would have to wait a bit longer before they see their legend play for them again as Spurs have confirmed their new catch is injured.The club said: “Gareth sustained a knee injury whilst playing for Wales on international duty earlier this month and this together with La Liga’s later start compared to the Premier League means he has had a limited pre-season. We currently anticipate that he will be match fit after October’s international break.”
