OFFICIAL: Rohr Names 24-Man Strong Squad For Sierra Leone Double Header

Gernot Rohr has named a 24-man strong squad for next month doubleheader against Sierra Leone in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The German tactician handed a median call to Switzerland-born goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe who last represented the country at the U20 level in the 2013 Toulon tournament

However, Lugano stopper he did not make the Flying Eagles’ cut to the U20 World Cup in Turkey.

Victor Osimhen missed the Super Eagles’ friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia in Austria due to coronavirus issues at Napoli.

The trio of Oghenekaro Etebo, Joe Aribo, and Daniel Akpeyi was all absent against the north Africans due to injury.

The names of the invited players was published on the NFF’s verified Twitter handle.

APOEL goalkeeper Francis Uzoho headlines the seven players placed on standby. Others are Abdullahi Shehu, Ramon Azeez, Samson Tijani, Paul Onuachu, Kelechi Nwakali and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Super Eagles take on the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Friday, 13th November before flying to Freetown for the return game on Tuesday, 17th November.
