“Olori Joyce Anene Balogun, the wife of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Mohood Balogun, has converted to Islam.
The Olori was converted to Islam during a Ramadan Lecture held on Monday, April 25, at Ibadan Central Praying Ground under the Chairmanship of Honourable Ibraheem Akintayo.
The Grand Imam of Oyo state, Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere I, confirmed the news in a statement on Facebook, adding that the queen’s new name is Khadijah Mahood Lekan Balogun.
“Olori Joyce Mahood Lekan Balogun {Olori Olubadan of Ibadanland} embraced Islam by The Grand Imam of Oyo State His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere at Ibadan North East Local Government Ramadan Lecture held at Ibadan Central Praying Ground {Yidi Agodi Gate Ibadan}under the Chairmanship of Honourable Ibraheem Akintayo {Olori name Khadijah Mahood Lekan Balogun.” the statement read.
