Miralem Pjanic is a Barcelona transfer target, claims Spanish newspaper AS, but they must convince Arthur Melo to accept Juventus too.
The reports of the Pjanic-Arthur exchange have been swirling around the Italian and Spanish media for a week now, with suggestions the deal would already have been practically done if not for the Brazilian’s reticence.
Arthur even released a statement assuring he wanted to remain at Camp Nou and would not consider any other option.
However, AS today report this is Pjanic’s last chance to wear the Blaugrana jersey and they are enthusiastic about the prospect of him running their midfield.
It’s not the first time the Bosnian has been close to Barcelona, as he was also targeted by his former Roma coach Luis Enrique in 2016.
With Barca seeking an experienced figure and Juve going for a talent on the up, AS note that “their interests converge.”
Therefore, it’s a double-pronged attack on Arthur to change his mind, with Juventus touting the possibilities and Barcelona making it clear he won’t get much playing time if he remains.
