Police Nabbed 2 Robbery Suspects, & Recovers Weapon

Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected robbers terrorising residents and motorists on Mile 2-Badagry Expressway in Lagos.
It was learned that the suspects, identified as Sunday Ajawuso, aged 25, and Johnson Gabriel, 21, were arrested by a team of officers on routine patrol on Monday at about10:35p.m., while attempting to rob a motorist at Iyana-Isashi Bus Stop.
According to an eyewitness, Yinka Kaba, who spoke to Vanguard, the suspects were caught during a robbery opera-tion in the night at Iyana-Isashi.
According to the eyewitness, but for the timely intervention of policemen, who rescued the motorist, only God knows what would have happened.
Vanguard gathered that the Police also recovered a locally-made pistol and for cartridges from the suspects.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson Lagos State Police Command, CSP Chike Oti, said: “The arrest was done by undercover operatives of the Command deployed by the Commissioner of Police to ensure the safety of commuters along Mile 2-Badagry Expressway.
“The suspects are currently in Police custody. Also a locally-made pistol with four cartridges were recovered from the suspects. Investigation is still ongoing and the suspects will be brought to book.”
Two week ago, robbery suspects, David Okon and Ibe Okonne, were also arrested at the Maza-Maza end of the same expressway.
