Paris Saint-Germain have made an offer to Inter Milan for striker Mauro Icardi in a bid to make his loan move permanent, according to reports.

The Argentinean spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan in the French capital, where he has scored 12 goals in 20 league appearances for the Ligue 1 champions.

The French side want the 27-year-old to lengthen his stay at the Parc des Princes, and according to reports they have made a formal bid for the striker.

According to Sky Italia, via Football Italia, PSG have offered €60million (£54million) for the attacker, however this is short of the asking price set out in the option to buy by the Serie A outfit.

That original agreement had been for €70m, but Inter could be tempted to accept a slightly lower offer given the current financial climate caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

The club have also made it clear to the Argentine that he has no future at San Siro, with vice-president Javier Zanetti admitting as much last month.

However, PSG refusing to meet the buy-out clause does leave the door open for other interested parties.

Both Juventus and Milan have been credited with an interest in Icardi, with a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic and Alex Sandro suggested as a possibility for the former.
