Paris Saint-Germain is set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara who is touted to leave the Allianz Arena this season.
The former Barcelona star wants a move elsewhere this summer and he favoured a move to Jurgen Klopp’s team but the report in Abendzeintung München says the Reds are reluctant to meet Bayern’s €30m valuation, while in contrast, Paris Saint-Germain has “no problem to pay the price claimed by Bayern”.
The Spain international will welcome an offer from the Ligue 1 Champions, where he would join former Barcelona teammate Neymar.
Klopp is keen on adding more depth to his midfield and he has identified the Bayern Munich star, though has been told they won’t go higher than €25m to sign the midfielder.
Liverpool also missed out on the chance to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and they could see one of their targets slips off again if the Anfield team failed to meet Bayern Munich’s valuation.
