ACADEMIC REWARD: Queen Irene Onwuka Peace Foundation Gives Out N2million To Winners Of National Children Quiz Competition

The
recent quiz competition organised by Queen Irene Onwuka Peace
Foundation has awarded the sum of 2million to the emerged winners of the
National Children’s Quiz Competition held at NAF conference center,
Abuja.

The competition which was strongly supported by the
Federal Ministry of Education witnessed a quite voluminous crowd, with
representatives from several public and private schools across Nigeria,
observers, parents and development partners.

Amongst the
reputable personalities in attendance are, Air Vice Marshall Abubakar
Kashimu PHD, representing the Chief of Defense Staff, MRS Irene Okafor
from UBE Board , MR Frank Ijeoma, representing the Minister of State for
Education. Officer AG Wobin, representing the Corp Marshall, Sir
Boboye, from Federal Road Safety Commission, comrade DA Aluku from Air
Force and Mr Linus Okorie, officials from the Peace Corp Nigeria.

The
contest which was themed, “Unlocking the Knowledge of the Nigerian
Child” started in quite a calm atmosphere until few minutes after when
the competition got heated up. The competing student had all hands on
deck in defence of their intellectual speed of thought.

However,
the schools that came out victorious where JSS Kwali JSS Peyi and the
Winner JSS PASALI.Other schools that were also awarded prizes.

The
Convener of the National Children Quiz Competition, Queen Irene Onwuka,
Former Miss Ambassador for Peace Queen has congratulated the winners of
the competition. She also applauded everyone who participated in the
competition and thanked all those who made out time to grace the
occasion, which was indeed a huge success.
