Real Madrid forwards Vinicius and Mariano Diaz sent Los Blancos back to the top of the La Liga after the 2-0 win over Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.
Both teams played purely attacking football with Real Madrid looking shaper of the two sides with a fast counter whenever the host has the ball.Barcelona opted for their short passing style and both teams looked solid defensively with Thibaut Courtois making great saves to ensure he denied the visitors on two ocassions. Real Madrid and Barcelona had scoring opportunities but none of the teams was able to record a goal.
Zinedine Zidane’s men looked to be in charge of the first half despite the half time ending in 0-0.Los Blancos kept going forward untl in the 70th minutewhen Gerard Pique deflected in a ball from Vinicius Jr.Real Madrid had a better moment after scoring the goal but Real Madrid was left opened on several ocassions but they were able to cover up for their lapses.Real Madrid almost got the second goal but Barcelona defence was intact to ward off the challenge. Mariano Diaz scored the second goal for Real Madrid barely just a minute of coming in as Real Madrid claimed the three points and go back to the top of the La Liga table.
