Feelers from Moscow indicate erstwhile Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses had accepted a salary cut in a desperate bid to force a move to Russian giants Spartak Moscow.

Sports-express confirmed that the former Fenerbahce winger had agreed that a pay cut be considered in the negotiation after Inter Milan dropped the option to buy and won’t encourage a fresh loan either.Moses earns less than 3 million euros annually as a Chelsea player but was told by Spartak officials to accept a 25 percent salary cut if he must secure a move to the Russian side.

“Muscovites have agreed with Chelsea to sign Moses until the end of the 2020/21 season with the right to purchase his transfer. The midfielder will lose about 25 percent of what he earns with the Blues. And his income for the red and white is calculated from a salary of less than 3 million euros per year.  We welcome Victor to the red and white family and we hope he shows himself brightly in our team.” Spartak confirmed in a statement. The former Wigan, Liverpool, Stoke City, Turkish Fenerbahce, and Inter winger retired from International football following Nigeria’s first-round exit at Russia 2018 World Cup.

Moses won the Premier League and Europa League at Chelsea to cap a successful career with the Londoners where he played a total of 128 matches for and scored 18 goals with 13 assists. It remains to be seen how the former West Ham star intends to cope with extreme racism that has characterized Russian football for decades.
