Rohr Assures Nigerians Ahead Tunisia Friendly

Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr has told Nigerians to expect a better performance from his boys when Nigeria file out against The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in Austria this evening.

Super Eagles were unimpressive as Algeria Desert Warriors pipped Nigeria 1-0 in Friday’s friendly, but the former Burkina Faso manager has told teeming fans back home to expect a much improved Super Eagles this evening.

He admitted that the absence of key players like Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Ogenekaro Etebo and Victor Osimhen was felt in the overall performance of the team, but maintained that today’s friendly against Tunisia will afford new players the much-needed opportunity to prove their mettle.“We definitely must put up a greater effort against the Tunisians. It is an opportunity for some of the players to rise up to the occasion, stake a claim. They are ready to go and I believe we would see a much better game on Tuesday.” Rohr told thenff.com

Meanwhile, Super Eagles players and officials have been given a clean bill of health to face Tunisia today after Sunday’s Covid-19 test conducted on players and officials were negative.Tunisia will be without three top players in today’s friendly after trio of Jasser Khemiri, Ferjani Sassi and Seifeddine Khaoui failed to travel to Austria.The big friendly will take place at the Jacques Lemans Arena in the Austrian city of St. Veit a der Glan at 7:30 Nigerian time.
