Leroy Sane is open to staying at Manchester City beyond this season, according to The Telegraph.
Bayern Munich have been credited with strong interest in the winger
for over a year now, after the arrivals of Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo
Silva saw his game-time at the Etihad significantly reduced last season.
He would’ve perhaps already returned to his homeland last summer if it
weren’t for an ACL tear he suffered in the Community Shield triumph over
Liverpool in August. Bayern still refused to rule out a swoop at a
later date, providing the injury doesn’t leave any long-term damage to
his abilities. With the Germany international only just returned to
training, that remains to be seen.
However, it seems the 24-year-old wouldn’t mind remaining at his
current club, which gives hope that he might also sign a new contract,
despite the impending ban from European competitions City are facing at
the moment. His current one expires at the end of next season.
