Ahead of the match against Cagliari on Wednesday, Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is set to rest Cristiano Ronaldo, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport,
The 35-year-old year-old is currently with 31 goals in the Serie A, three adrift of Lazio’s Ciro Immobile. The Bianconeri have already secured their ninth title with the 2-0 victory against Sampdoria.
However, it is interesting for Old Lady fans that Sarri will make the decision to drop Ronaldo with two matches to the end of the Serie A season.
The newspaper claims that Ronaldo would be left in Turin when the rest of the team travel to Sardinia for Wednesday’s match.
Sarri is focused on turning around the 1-0 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League and will need Ronaldo to play a very key role for the Old Lady.
