OrderPaperToday– The resumption of the National Assembly from a three week long recess was greeted with protests at the National Assembly this morning.

Placards carried by youths in their hundreds contained heaps of criticisms on the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the National Assembly at large over alleged corruption in the implementation of constituency projects and increment of the 2018 budget.

Senator Dino Melaye was also attacked for refusing to “attend court sessions but he is fit to act drama in Abuja Maitama.”

More Placards read: “Where are the killers National Assembly? We have not forgotten Offa robbery and Kogi assassination so soon; Saraki must resign and stop mocking the dead. The world is waiting.

“Constituency project is now corrupted, it must be formatted. Dear Legislators, diversion of thousands of projects in the budget is tantamount hijacking of budget. Our lawmakers are inserting illegal projects in the budget. They now compel the use of their corrupt contractors.

“The national assembly is not for armed robbers. Are you for the people and the constitution or for the projects and contracts? Nigerians are not represented in the haring of the loots via constituency projects. We demand the arrest and prosecution of budget offenders in both legislative and executive.”

Meanwhile, Saraki has commenced plenary with an opening prayer.

However, the lawmakers of the red chamber went into an executive session at 10:58am.
