Senator Dariye bags 16 years jail term
OrderPaperToday – A Federal High Court in Gudu, Abuja has issued a cumulative term of imprisonment of 16 years to Senator representing Plateau Central in the National Assembly, Joshua Chibi Dariye.
Dariye who was a Governor of the state was convicted of 15 counts on the offences of criminal breach of trust and criminal misappropriation.
The Judge, Justice Olubukola Banjoko giving the judgement on Tuesday sentenced Dariye, to two years for misappropriation and 14 years for criminal breach of trust.
Banjoko noted that the pronounced sentences would run concurrently which means that Dariye may end up spending 14 years in custody.
