Lega Serie A will propose their idea about suspending players’ salaries to the Italian Footballers’ Association in a meeting next Monday, according to a report from Italian broadcaster La7 earlier today.

The report details how the idea of the League is to suspend the
players’ wages for the next three months, waiting to see if and when the
league will restart before paying their players again. The clubs’
justification for this is that the Coronavirus emergency poses serious
risk to their financial stability and reducing players’ wages is an easy
way of solving many fears.

The AIC have made it clear that there is no rush to pay the wages for the months affected by the situation, the report continues. The union, led by Damiano Tommasi, have said that there is time until May to pay for the months prior that haven’t had any games played. Regardless, the clubs will still attempt to fully suspend the wages for the time being.
