This weekend, we witnessed the birth of a new football team in Nigeria “SPORTING LAGOS”.
The club was unveiled by SHOLA AKINLADE co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Paystack.
Shola : We’re creating a modern football club to incubate the next generation of Nigeria’s sporting talent.
One of the top journalist in the country GODWIN ENAKHENA was appointed as the first ever chairman of the club.
He said, “I don’t see myself as someone that wants to run an NNL team, we tried our best to get an NPFL team, but it didn’t work out. We are an NNL team for now, but we will not spend more than one season in the second division,”.
Sporting Lagos FC started their NNL campaign at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, with a 1⃣ – 1⃣ draw 
Go Round FC on Saturday.
