Last night, a troop of men of the Nigerian Army in over over 20 trucks went around popular clubs and lounges in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital, in a show of force ahead of the governorship election on Saturday, March 9th.
The Soldiers were alleged to have harassed
party goers and fun seekers at random during the patrol at the joints
including De Boss Lounge, Casablanca, Orange Room, Playhouse Lounge,
Tuscany and many others.
This is coming days after several
families in Abonnema in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State
fled their homes over fear Nigerian Army could attack their town after
gunmen killed two soldiers there on Saturday night.
