Sporting CP, the Portuguese club where Cristiano Ronaldo started his football career is in talks to rename their stadium CR7 in his honor.
The stadium which is called Jose Alvalade will now be called CR7 Stadium or CR7 Alvalade if talks pull through.
President
of the club Frederico Varandas is reported to have held talks with
members of the board who are said to have agreed concerning the plan
which will see the club attract huge sponsors due to the global brand
which CR7 is.
Ronaldo moved from Sporting CP to Manchester United
where he emerged world best player. He proceeded to Real Madrid and
repeated the feat three times before signing with Juventus last summer.
