Super Eagles legend Yakubu Aiyegbeni has called for the sack of German tactician Gernot Rohr following recent poor results.

The former Everton forward is not impressed with the selection of players under the ex-Bordeaux manager and tagged them ‘not good enough’ as he went all out in an interview with a popular radio show.

Rohr has failed to win his last four matches for the Super Eagles but the disappointing home and away draws against Sierra Leone seem too had drawn the most criticisms with his time in-charge of the West African side.

“The coach is not good enough, let him go,” the former Super Eagles striker said in a phone interview with Lagos Talks. “Some of the boys are not good enough, I don’t know where they are bringing them from. Who is inviting these players?

“Our football is getting worse every day. When I was there, people criticise us, but we’re way better than these ones. The coach is not good enough, no clue. Gernot Rohr is one of the worst coaches in our history. He is not good enough.”

Rohr was appointed Super Eagles head coach in 2016 and has so far led the three-time African champions to the 2018 World Cup and a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
