Days after helping Nigeria to the World Cup playoffs, the Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has handed music star Buju a signed Everton jersey.

The former Arsenal player took to his Instagram to show-off the moment he handed a signed shirt to Buju TYE whose real name is Daniel Benson. Yellow Danfo are reporting that it seemed the music artiste met with the footballer in his hotel room when he was in the country for the World Cup qualifying match against Cape Verde.

The Super Eagles managed a 1-1 draw with the Blue Sharks at the Teslim Balogun Stadium; meaning Nigeria are through to the final round of the qualifying series slated for March next year.

From the series of photos shared from their meeting by Alex Iwobi, who has never hidden his love for music, especially the Afrobeat sounds, it is clear that the meet was in Lagos, the platform said.

Buju who broke into the Nigerian music scene with his collaboration with Grammy award-winning Afrobeat superstar, Burna Boy with the single titled ‘L’enu’ remix, is clearly one of Alex Iwo’s favourite singers. Iwobi lavishes praises on Rafa Benitez Meanwhile, Iwobi showered praises on Everton manager Rafa Benitez for his improved form in the English topflight this season.

Iwobi has shown class at the start of the season scoring a goal and assisting one for Everton in the Premier League during this campaign.

The former Arsenal sensation has impressed under Benitez who replaced Carlo Ancelotti back in June, and has played in all their matches this season. He referenced the manager’s training session which has been impactful for his form in recent times.
