Newly invited forward to the Super Eagles, Cyriel Dessers has expressed delight after signing a 4-year-deal with Belgium side KRC Genk.

The 25-year-old, who supported the Belgian club as a child was poached from Heracles Almelo after he emerged joint topscorer in the Dutch league last season alongside Steven Berghuis with 15 goals apiece.

Speaking to the club’s website after his unveiling, an absolutely delighted Dessers revelaed: “I imagined to playing that amazing stadium. In football you don’t get anything for free. Only hard work pays off.

“Hard work to improve every day and make your dream come true. Now, I’m ready. Now, I’m where I want to be.”

The club’s Sporting Director, Dimitri de Conde said: “Cyriel has developed excellently in the Netherlands as a footballer and as a real goalscorer. He is Belgian, still young and ready to take the next step in his career. The fact that he was a supporter of our club as a child only makes it even better.”betpayads
