A Romanian pop star was killed when a train smashed into his car – with the stomach-churning moment captured on camera as he live streamed to his followers.

Tavy Pustiu, 29, was listening to loud music in his car when the locomotive ploughed into the car’s passenger side – killing him and leaving his wife fighting for her life.
The shocking video footage shows the up and coming musician listening to loud manele music, a type of pop-folk music popular in Romania.

Bopping to the music, the clip shows him looking deeply into the camera lens as he smoked a cigarette. In the live stream, his wife can be seen driving towards a level crossing in the city of Ploiesti, in Romania’s Prahova County. For a brief moment, he panned the camera across to his wife as both of them grinned at the camera.

She can be seen looking left and right at the crossing but clearly fails to spot the speeding train. Suddenly, Mr Pustiu lets out a scream as he sees the train hurtling towards the car, but tragically it was too late. The train smashed into the side of the white Ford Fiesta, setting both airbags off and completely crumpling the side of the car that Mr Pustiu was in.

A local police spokesman in Prahova over said: “As a result of a collision between a train and a car on the level crossing a 29-year-old man who was the passenger in the front of the car was declared dead and a 24-year-old woman who was the driver was injured. “The accident happened because of non-compliance with the rules at the level crossing.” They said that the train had been travelling between Maneciu and Ploiesti Sud and that it had been complicated for firemen to remove the pair from the wreckage.

His wife, who was not named, remains in a critical condition and is on life support at the Prahova County Hospital after the accident, which caused several hours of delays in both road and rail traffic.

Tragically, just one month before his death, the singer had posted a message to followers on Facebook saying: “One day, the wrong train will take you to the right destination.”
