Atletico Madrid’s plans to restart training with every senior player suffered a blow on Friday with it emerging that Renan Lodi tested positive for COVID-19.
The Brazilian is asymptomatic, but has been quarantined in his home to prevent him from coming into contact with his teammates.
MARCA has received information that the left-back’s infection is at a very advanced stage, but if he tests negative in his next test then he will be able to start training at the club’s facility.
Lodi will then be tested in a few more days to see if he has overcome the disease, although the club already knew he was one of the 10 Atleti players who had come into contact with the virus.
However, Wednesday’s testing has shown him to be the only player who still has some trace of the coronavirus in his system.
