Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and Actor.
After loosing her Father at a very young age, she was raised by her mother
single-handedly.

Mercy Chinwo Nnenda was born and bred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria.
She is also a song-writer and actress. Her passion for singing
started at her early age, as a member of the children’s choir in the church.
She later joined the adult choir and and from there launched her Music career.

She took her career further by lending her vocals to musical projects by
gospel music artists such as Sammie Okposo, Chris Morgan, Joe Praize, Buchi and
Preye. She came to prominence after winning the Etisalat and Pepsi sponsored
Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012.
She also has a career in acting. She started acting a year after winning the Nigerian Idol
show, she was featured in her debut movie, a multiple award winning movie of Yvonne
Nelson’s “House of Gold” . Mercy starred alongside some top merchants in Nollyvvood
including Yvonne Nelson, Omawunmi, Majid Michael, Francis Odega and rapper Ice Prince.

MUSIC

She started her musical career by lending her vocals to musical projects by gospel music artists.
A year after winning the Nigerian Idols, she landed her first film role in, House of Gold.
Starring alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel and Omawumi among others.
She was also nominated at the 2013 Ghana Movie Awards for best music, original song.

Mercy released her first musical album titled “Testimony” in 2015,
a year later, released, “Igwe“. In 2017, she has released 4 more songs as a build up to her debut album
“The Cross, My Gaze”  which she released in 2018.

Mercy Chinwo Nnenda has won numerous awards and earned several nominations as
well. In year 2013, she was nominated at the Ghana Movie Awards for best music,
original song. She has also won other awards and many nominations to her name.

The famous gospel singer and actress has successfully released four more singles as a
build up to her debut album.
This album also contains her heat song “Exess Love”, Which has been a massive hit since it was released.
American Gospel Singer JJ Hairston recently teamed up with Mercy to do a remix of the hit song.

Mercy Chinwo currently has several songs being played everywhere in the country. Her
best hit song is Excess Love, a song she released after a long wait by fans,
she has lived up to expectations ever since she came to poularity.
“Excess Love” was produced by Dr Roy of Eezee Productions.
