‘They Celebrated like Won The Tie?’ – Robertson’s Words After 1st Leg Backfired

Fans have uncovered Andy Robertson’s comments warning Atletico Madrid about Anfield following Liverpool’s Champions League exit.

Atletico defeated Liverpool 3-2 on Wednesday night to advance to the Champions League quarter-finals 4-2 on aggregate.

But Robertson’s comments following the first leg have resurfaced and they haven’t aged well.

The Scotsman told BT Sport after their 1-0 loss in the first leg: “They celebrated like they won the tie after the game, so let’s see. They’re coming back to Anfield, we know our fans will be there.”

Fans have been quick to bring up the 26-year-old’s comments after Diego Simeone’s side managed to pick up a victory.
