Juventus want Arthur Melo to be included in a swap deal that would see Miralem Pjanic join Barcelona.

However, Marca says the Catalans are not willing to push their player to join the Old Lady, while the Brazil international isn’t eager to leave the Blaugrana.

“I want to continue [at Barcelona],” Arthur said a few weeks ago.

“In my head there is no other option but to continue at Barcelona.”

Aware of Arthur’s unwillingness to leave the Camp Nou, Barcelona have offered other players as a makeweight to clinch a deal for Pjanic.

In the event Barcelona reach an agreement with Juventus, they will break down the deal to the Brazilian, who will have the last word.

The Blaugrana need to offload players to make room in their budget and they would prefer to part ways with players such as Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, who are both earning twice what Arthur is paid.

Meanwhile, although Arthur has been unlucky with various injuries in his first two seasons at the club, he is a player who perfectly fits Barcelona’s philosophy.

Both the club and the coaching staff are confident that the 23-year-old will improve next season and, for the time being, he has not received any formal offers from elsewhere.
