Two Nigerian Players Set To Become Free Agents After Belgian Clubs Refused Pro Licenses

Two Nigerian players of Godwin Saviour and Yusuf Lawal are set to become free agents after their Belgian clubs were refused licenses to play professional football next season.

Saviour’s KSV Roeselare and Yusuf’s Lokeren are among several Belgian clubs not granted playing license.

Saviour, 23, netted seven goals in 25 appearances in the regular season, while Yusuf Lawal, 22, made 13 appearances for Lokeren.

Standard Liege, KV Oostende as well as Lommel have also suffered similar fate.

All the affected clubs will appeal the decision to deny them to feature in professional football come the new season.
