Aston Villa are interested in Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson but know their chances of signing the former France Under-21 international hinge on their Premier League survival, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
The 25-year-old has scored four goals and has the same number of assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
But any deal would be contingent on Villa staying in the top flight come May.
