Xenophobic Attacks: Kalu Meets Ex South African President, Mbeki In Johannesburg

Former Governor of Abia State and Senator-elect for Abia North Senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu on Monday met with a former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki in Johannesburg.

Igbere TV
had previously reported that Kalu, who clocked 59, was on Sunday
surprised with a birthday bash in South Africa by popular online news
medium, Igbere TV, friends and aides of the business mogul.

The
meeting between the two African leaders, Igbere TV gathered, was to
deliberate on issues affecting both countries especially civil unrests
and the most recent xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa.

Taking to Twitter at the end of the meeting, the former governor wrote;

“I
had a fruitful meeting with the former President of South Africa, Thabo
Mvuyelwa Mbeki in Johnesburg joined by my wife, Mrs Ifunanya Kalu. As
leaders we both deliberated on pertinent issues especially ending civil
unrests by promoting unity amongst all Africans.”

Igbere TV recalls that Kalu and his wife, Ifunanya, have been in South Africa since Thursday on a business trip.

They
were on Monday night hosted to a dinner by His Excellency, Sir Chief Dr
Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom.

Similarly,
popular Nigerian pastor and president/founder of Believers Loveworld
aka Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilomen on Sunday played host to
the former governor in a special church service organized in his South
African church, as part of activities to mark his 59th birthday.
